Soccer

Brynn started soccer.....

From what I heard, she was quite aggressive!!
I didn't see her though, I was.....

Coaching!!!

Yes, that's right, I am coaching Brynn's soccer team!

Before you laugh too hard, Brandon is helping me.  He is the one with soccer experience.  He played on the high school team in the fall.  And I was told that for this age, you didn't need any experience and they were desperate for help.
So, I said I would help!

Fortunately, no score is kept and they are young.  I was told to work on dribbling and shooting, but these kids are pretty good.
Our next practice will consist of teaching them that
1.  there is no slide tackling allowed in soccer
2.  you should pass the ball to your teammates
3.  when the ball is on the field, you shouldn't just look at it, you need to go after it!

It was a fun morning and after these 9 weeks, I think I will be hanging up my coaching hat!

(I must say that Brynn was so excited that me and Brandon were going to be her coaches!  She didn't care that we aren't coaches!!)

Easter Baskets

The Easter bunny delivered on Saturday morning......

the kids forgot that he has come on Saturday morning for a lot of years.
Many years back we asked him to come on Saturday, as it was getting harder and harder to make it to church on time and harder and harder to remember why we celebrate Easter in the first place!

But when they woke up, they were thrilled that he came on Saturday!

Easter Egg Hunt

Brynn informed me that she has not had an Easter Egg Hunt since we left Utah and she is ready to go back so she can go to Grandma's and have a hunt!  Poor girl!  She really gets the shaft sometimes with the older kids no longer caring about this kind of stuff!

So, I did what a good mom would do and filled a bunch of eggs......then she got invited to a friend's house and had a little one there too!
So, she got two in one day and she was thrilled!!

She invited her friend over to our house after the hunt at their house and it was a 20 minute party!

She was in heaven and that was all that mattered!

Next year, I will do a better job for my child who lives in the shaft!!

Happy Birthday!

My oldest boy is getting old.....
It is something I don't like to talk about or even think about for that matter.

We only have about 2 more years with him at home and then he will be off for college and a mission.
He is growing up way too quickly, but is the best kid a parent could ask for!

Happy Birthday!!

1.  2 more years
2.  he is an amazing kid
3.  birthdays

Halloween 2011

Halloween 2011
was SO exciting!

See all of our pictures..............

Oh wait, there are no pictures.
Why?  you ask.

Because we didn't have Halloween.

Instead we got a snow storm that cancelled EVERYTHING.

We got a reverse 911 call from the police chief asking the town to postpone trick or treating until Friday.
School was cancelled on Monday
Church was cancelled on Sunday

And now I am more than ready to put away the Halloween decorations!

What to do, what to do??

I am in favor of forgetting about trick or treating, seems weird to go 5 days after the real Halloween
the girls, they are not in favor of forgetting about Halloween.

Maybe by Friday I will have some Halloween pictures.

We were fine in the storm, just a few trees needed some work, never lost power, but at this point some of our friends are still without power and some have just gotten it back as of yesterday.

1.  not losing power
2.  only 1 snow day so far
3.  having Grandpa here for a few days!

Sad Day

to be a Red Sox fan.

http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2011/09/29/sox_make_unwanted_history_with_historic_collapse/?p1=News_links

Their season was a bit ridiculous.  They start the season losing their first 6 games, start winning, have the best record in MLB, have a 9 game lead going into September and then they lose it and don't even make it to the playoffs.

LAME!!!

1.  getting more sleep because i won't be watching playoff games
2.no more ups and downs......are they going to win, ah they lost.
3.  it is Thursday!

Happy Birthday Grandma!

Today is Grandma's birthday.....she would have been 65!

Oh how we miss her!!

 At the Rodeo!
 This describes her so well!
 Grandma and Marissa
Grandma and Grandpa and the kids during Grandma's one and only visit to our current home.
 Braden and Grandma
Trying to keep a serious face, which was hard with these people!!
Brandon and Grandma ready to be done with pictures, but still being good sports!

I was just talking to a friend who lost her mother in law last week.  I was asking her how they all were doing and she said she keeps expecting the phone to ring and have her MIL be on the other end.  I do this all the time, or I need an answer to a question and think, I will just call Paulette and she will know the answer!

We miss her a lot!

1.  The Gospel of Jesus Christ
2.  My knowledge and belief that we are an eternal family!
3.  Paulette

My Favorite

color during football season is

RED!!!

uwin

It makes it even more fun to wear red after a 54-10 WIN over the rival team.
It was weird to have the game in September and not November, but a win over the rival is great any time of the season!!!!

1.  internet streaming
2.  wearing red to church
3.  having my mom here to watch her beloved BYU team get blown out!!
